About the CCESD Information System (CCESD-IS)

CCESD-IS provides unique facilities for on-line analysis of major British and European social surveys. It includes hundreds of surveys spanning over 50 years, with 100,000s of questions that may be found by:

  • drop-down content lists of topics
  • full-text searches of the question wording
  • browsing the survey-by-survey listings

CCESD-IS produces time-series results automatically, displayed as both tables and high-quality charts.

Our surveys

The principal survey series available in CCESD-IS include:

CCESD-IS also includes seminal comparative social surveys such as the 1959 Civic Culture study and the 1974 Political Action survey. For further information about all of these survey series, click here.

Users automatically have access to all available survey series but it is also possible to choose to work with just one or more specific European series, such as Eurobarometer or the European Social Survey.
